Ah, Fall! The time when leaves decide to play ‘The Floor is Lava,’ (children's game), and we get the glorious task of raking them up. From all of us at Roger Olcott Insurance Agency , Inc. in Cedar City, UT. , here to sprinkle a little humor on your fall maintenance routine because, let’s face it, preparing your home for the winter is no laughing matter…but it can be!
1. Gutter Clutter Cutter!
Autumn leaves are pretty, but they seem to have a deep love affair with our gutters! Time to play matchmaker and part them from a messy gutter relationship. Keeping those gutters clean can prevent water damage – because the only water we like is the one in our coffee! And if the water does decide to play tricks, give us a ring at (435) 586-4600. We’ve got your back, and your house!
2. Chimney Sweep Waltz!
Does your chimney look like it’s been through a soot battle and lost? It’s time to sweep the chimney! It’s essential to prevent our homes from becoming impromptu BBQ pits. Oh, and did we mention? A clean chimney means a happy home, and a happy home is, well, not on fire.
3. Tree Limb Limbo!
Take a gander at the tree limbs hanging over your house. Are they doing the limbo too close to your roof? Time to give them a little trim before they decide to drop in uninvited. Trust me, a tree limb through the roof is NOT the kind of house guest you want this season.
4. Heater Sneezers!
Turn your heater on before it gets too cold. If it makes you sneeze, it might need a clean or a checkup. We don’t want the heater going on strike in the middle of December. Brrr! And if things go south, remember, we at Roger Olcott Insurance Agency , Inc. have warm solutions for frosty problems!
5. Pipe Dream!
Insulate those pipes! We don’t want them to catch cold and freeze up on us. Frozen pipes are like frozen coffee—useless and frustrating. Avoid the icy catastrophe by wrapping them up snug and tight. If the pipe dreams do turn frosty, you know who to call!
6. Yard Debris Freebie!
Collect and dispose of yard debris regularly. The wind has a habit of redecorating, and we wouldn’t want the lawn furniture to go visiting the neighbors without an invitation.
7. The Detector Protector!
Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. These little gadgets are the unsung heroes of our homes. A fresh set of batteries can set them up to protect us from unseen foes. And should they ever sing their loud, life-saving tune, we can help sort out the aftermath.
